What percentage of wedding guests usually decline?

There is no reliable percentage for every wedding. Travel, date, notice period, family circumstances and the type of celebration all matter. Run several scenarios instead of treating one percentage as certain.

Should plus-ones count towards venue capacity?

Yes. Any offered plus-one can become an attendee and should be counted before invitations are sent, even when the companion’s name is not known yet.

Do children count in the wedding headcount?

Yes. Venues and caterers may price children differently, but they still affect seating, capacity, meals and safety planning.

Can I invite more people than the venue holds?
